Admission 2021

  1. The Admission process is completely online. The candidates need not visit IIIT Kalyani physically for admission.

  2. Online Institute Reporting after CSAB rounds: The candidate needs to pay the Institute fees during December 07 - 13, 2021 and must send us the documents as stated below.

  3. The candidates need to pay the Institute fees (see Institute fee structure: Part A) through the SBI Collect Portal. It can be accessed using this link: Payment Link

  4. The Institute fee for the first semester is INR 1,03,920/- (see Institute fee structure: Part A). Total amount paid as JoSAA round seat acceptance fee, JoSAA round partial admission fee excluding processing charges, CSAB round participation fee, CSAB round seat acceptance fee (as the case it is) must be subtracted from INR 1,03,920 to get the remaining amount to be paid to IIIT Kalyani.

  5. Examples:

    Case 1: General/Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL: Remaining amount to be paid to IIIT Kalyani = INR 30,920. In SBI portal during payment, write Tution Fee = INR 17000 keeping the other components as they are in the fee structure.

    Case 2: SC/ST/PwD: Remaining amount to be paid to IIIT Kalyani = INR 70,920. In SBI portal during payment, write Tution Fee = INR 57000 keeping the other components as they are in the fee structure.

  6. During admission, the amount to be paid does not include the hostel and mess fees (see Institute fee structure: Part B). The candidate needs to pay the hostel and mess fees only when he/she joins IIIT Kalyani hostel physically. Note that for all first year students it's mandatory to stay in the hostel.

  7. After paying the Institute fee, the candidate must send the following documents to admission@iiitkalyani.ac.in with a copy to office@iiitkalyani.ac.in as email attachments. In the subject line, the name of the candidate and JEE(Main) Application Number (12 digits) must be written. In addition, a single PDF or a ZIP containing the form and documents must be uploaded to this link: UPLOAD

  2. i. Proof of JosAA/CSAB Provisional Seat Allocation
    ii. Seat Acceptance Fee- Payment Proof (Payment made to JoSAA)
    iii. Partial Admission Fee- Payment Proof (Payment made to JoSAA)
    iv. Special Round Participation and Acceptance Fee Payment Receipts (applicable for special rounds only)
    v. Proof of payment of the remaining amount (as illustrated in the above cases) to IIIT Kalyani (save the payment slip from the SBI portal during payment making and attach it along with other documents)

  3. List of documents for verification (submit scanned documents/images):
    i. Aadhaar Card
    ii. Admit Card of JEE (Main) - 2021
    iii. Class X - Marksheet and Certificate
    iv. Class XII or Equivalent examination: Certificate and Marksheet
    v. Certificate of category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS), if applicable, as per JoSAA-2021 format, issued by the competent authority. In the case of OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS category, the certificate must be issued on or after April 01, 2021.
    vi. Certificate for Persons with Disabilities (PwD), if applicable, issued by the competent authority. Refer JoSAA-2021 website for format.
  4. vii. Copy of Medical Certificate (as per JoSAA-2021 format).

Indian Institute of Information Technology Kalyani was set up in 2014. It was among the eighteen IIITs set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, under the Not for profit Public-Private Partnership (N-PPP) model. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Government of India, Government of West Bengal, and Industry Partners, viz; Coal India Limited, Rolta Foundation, and WEBEL for setting up of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) at Kalyani using the above model. The stakes of the partners mentioned above were at a ratio of 50:35:15 respectively in 2014. The Institute has been declared an Institute of National Importance as per The Indian Institutes of Information Technology (Public-Private Partnership) Act, 2017. The Indian Institute of Information Technology Kalyani has been set up to produce best-in-class human resources in IT and to harness the multidimensional facets of IT in various domains. IIIT Kalyani strives to evolve into a world-class academic institution with the highest education and research facilities and produce industry-ready IT graduates to meet the industry demands. The institute will act as a catalyst in fostering an innovative ecosystem to ensure that new products, solutions, and innovations are created, taking advantage of the state's intellectual capital. IIIT Kalyani offers semester-oriented undergraduate and research programs to impart high-quality science and engineering education. Admission to the academic programs is synchronized with the academic year and occurs according to the procedure laid down by JoSAA and CSAB (for UG level). IIIT Kalyani offers a Doctoral program also in various subject areas. IIIT Kalyani aims to excel in education and research in Information Technology and allied areas. While the construction work for the permanent campus (Phase -I) has been initiated, the institute is presently running from the campus at WEBEL IT Park, Kalyani, West Bengal. Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA)/ Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB)

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), set up by the Ministry of Education, GoI, is to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation in the higher education Institutes in India for the academic year 2021-22. This process includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs, and other technical institutes funded fully or partially by central or state governments.
Admission to all the academic programs of IIIT Kalyani will be made through a JoSAA/CSAB 2021.

A. The fee structure per semester effective for academic session 2021 – 2022 to be paid into Institute Account is as follows:

The fee structure is the same irrespective of the category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD) of students.

The students / parents paying the fees through online payment systems should follow the following process for paying the fees.
  • Click on payment option given on our website.
  • Select 'West Bengal' as State of Corporate/Institution.
  • Select 'Educational Institution' as type of Corporate/Institution.
  • Click on "GO".
  • Select 'INDIAN INSTITUTE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY,KALYANI' as Educational Institute Name.(Please select Institute name very carefully.)
  • Click on "Submit".
  • Select the payment category as per requirement.(Select 'FEES PAYMENT FOR NEW STUDENTS' for payment of PART A.)
  • Fill all the details and then click on "Submit".
