UG Admission Incharge

Admission 2021 (JoSAA Round)


  1. The Admission process is completely online. The candidates need not visit IIIT Kalyani physically for admission.

  2. The candidate needs to pay the institute fees between November 20, 2021 and November 24, 2021 if his/her seat was allotted in the JoSAA round and if he/she is NOT going to participate in CSAB rounds.

  3. The candidates need to pay the Institute fees (see Institute fee structure: Part A) through the SBI Collect Portal. It can be accessed using this link: Payment Link

  4. The Institute fee for the first semester is INR 1,03,920/- (see Institute fee structure: Part A). Total amount paid as JoSAA round seat acceptance fee, JoSAA round partial admission fee excluding processing charges (as the case it is) must be subtracted from this amount (INR 1,03,920) to get the remaining amount to be paid to IIIT Kalyani.


  5. Examples:

    Case 1: Amount Already Paid to JoSAA/CSAB (JoSAA round seat acceptance fee and JoSAA round partial admission fee Excluding Processing Charges) = INR 73,000 (General/Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL), then the candidate will pay to IIIT Kalyani = INR 1,03,920 - 73,000 = INR 30,920 (Adjust/Subtract "Already Paid to JoSAA" amount i.e., INR 73000 from the section Tuition Fees in SBI portal during payment. Write Tution Fee = INR 17000 in place of INR 90,000/-, keeping the other components as they are in the fee structure).

    Case 2: Amount Already Paid to JoSAA/CSAB (JoSAA round seat acceptance fee and JoSAA round partial admission fee Excluding Processing Charges) = INR 33,000 (SC/ST/PwD), then the candidate will pay INR 1,03,920 - 33,000 = INR 70,920 (Adjust/Subtract "Already Paid to JoSAA" amount i.e., INR 33000 from the section Tuition Fees in SBI portal during payment. Write Tution Fee = INR 57000 in place of INR 90,000/-, keeping the other components as they are in the fee structure).

  6. During admission, the amount to be paid does not include the hostel and mess fees (see Institute fee structure: Part B). The candidate needs to pay the hostel and mess fees only when he/she joins IIIT Kalyani hostel physically. Note that for all first year students it's mandatory to stay in the hostel.

  7. After paying the Institute fee, the candidate must send the following documents to admission@iiitkalyani.ac.in with a copy to office@iiitkalyani.ac.in as email attachments. In the subject line, the name of the candidate and JEE(Main) Application Number (12 digits) must be written. In addition, a single PDF or a ZIP containing the form and documents must be uploaded to this link: UPLOAD

    ii. Seat Acceptance Fee- Payment Proof (Payment made to JoSAA)
    iii. Partial Admission Fee- Payment Proof (Payment made to JoSAA)
    iv. Special Round Participation and Acceptance Fee Payment Receipts (applicable for special rounds only)
    v. Proof of payment of the remaining amount (as illustrated in the above cases) to IIIT Kalyani (save the payment slip from the SBI portal during payment making and attach it along with other documents)

  3. List of documents for verification (submit scanned documents/images):
    i. Aadhaar Card
    ii. Admit Card of JEE (Main) - 2021
    iii. Class X - Marksheet and Certificate
    iv. Class XII or Equivalent examination: Certificate and Marksheet
    v. Certificate of category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS), if applicable, as per JoSAA-2021 format, issued by the competent authority. In the case of OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS category, the certificate must be issued on or after April 01, 2021.
    vi. Certificate for Persons with Disabilities (PwD), if applicable, issued by the competent authority. Refer JoSAA-2021 website for format.

Indian Institute of Information Technology Kalyani was set up in 2014. It was among the eighteen IIITs set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, under the Not for profit Public-Private Partnership (N-PPP) model. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Government of India, Government of West Bengal, and Industry Partners, viz; Coal India Limited, Rolta Foundation, and WEBEL for setting up of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) at Kalyani using the above model. Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA)/ Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB)


The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), set up by the Ministry of Education, GoI, is to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation in the higher education Institutes in India for the academic year 2021-22. This process includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs, and other technical institutes funded fully or partially by central or state governments.
Admission to all the academic programs of IIIT Kalyani will be made through a JoSAA/CSAB 2021.

A. The fee structure per semester effective for academic session 2021 – 2022 to be paid into Institute Account is as follows:
